Statement of Faith
At Salem, we believe Scripture is clear about who God is and what He has done for us. The statements below summarize those convictions — the foundation for our worship, our teaching, and our life together as a church.
We believe in the divine nature of God and that there is only one God. We believe that God exists in three distinct Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe that we are created in the image of God, and because of sin, we have been separated from God. So, God, in grace and love, sent His Son, Jesus, to the cross so those who receive Him and believe in Jesus may be forgiven and reconciled to God.
We believe that sin has corrupted all humanity and has separated us from God, and that Jesus is the only way to salvation and a restored relationship with God. That through this salvation, we have an eternal reward in Heaven. Without this salvation, there is eternal judgment separated from God.
We believe that salvation is through grace alone, by faith alone in Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection.
We believe, when translated faithfully, that the Holy Scriptures (Bible) are authoritative, inerrant, infallible, complete, and sufficient because they are the Word of God and still apply today.
We believe that salvation is through grace alone, by faith alone in Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection.
